Baloo came to us through a council dog warden when he was in need of a rescue space. Baloo came to us covered in wounds on his face and the front half of his body which we believe were from his time as a bait dog. Bait dogs are used to rile up fighting dogs before a fight. The police and dog wardens believe that Baloo was placed into a fighting ring in a crate, the crate was then opened and as he stepped out of the crate, he was attacked. It is likely that Baloo became too injured to be useful and was dumped. After he was dumped he was reported by a family whose home he went near whilst straying. The family threw sticks and stones at him to make him leave and called the police on him. Upon their arrival, this sweet boy went with them easily and has since won the hearts of everyone he has met.
Because of Baloo's past, we won't home him with children or other dogs. This is not because he has shown any issues with either but we believe it is best for Baloo to have a calm and quiet home where he can learn that he is safe and were he can be properly socialised from scratch by his new family.
Baloo is a very sweet and gentle boy who really enjoys wandering arund our field, saying hello to the other dogs and eating treats. He is very strong on the lead but does respond well to treats so training will be easier. Baloo hasn't shown any interest in toys but may learn this over time. He is very clean in his kennel.
Because of Baloo's past, he needs a family willing to show him what love is like and be patient with him as he learns how to live in a home for the first time.
